A fan-made remake of the Roblox game, Starscape, but as a text adventure game.

About This Project

Starscape: Text Adventure is a singleplayer fan game based on the multiplayer Roblox game, Starscape, originally by "Zolar Keth", AKA Ethan Witt. The original Starscape is a 3D open-universe game with over 4,500 unique, procedurally generated star systems. In Starscape, you can do just about anything. You can mine asteroids for resources, fight ancient drones, complete missions for different factions, help the warring nations fight for territory, participate in massive player-versus-player space battles, explore the natural beauty of the galaxy, find hidden lore-heavy secrets in deep space, and much more. It's an amazing game that is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated games on Roblox. Starscape Text Adventure shares most of these features, but transformed into text-based gameplay. It even includes realtime text-based combat, using your number pad or arrow keys to dodge enemy fire and holding the space bar to fire back. The original Starscape, at the time of making this game, is a sadly dying game. Its developer rarely updates the game, the marketplace is shut down due to exploits and lack of time to patch them, and the active player count is the lowest its been since it first released. Starscape: Text Adventure uses this as part of its core lore. In this game, the game has completely died. You are the last real player, but you play anyway because you can appreciate such a gem of a game, even when some of the core mechanics don't function with no players. That's okay, because the core mechanics have changed to work well in singleplayer now. Everyone else is an NPC. You rule the galaxy. Starscape: Text Adventure utilizes Pygame for immersive audio, reusing the same soundtrack used in the original Starscape. It even saves your progress so you can come back and continue later, or start another save and start from scratch. The game also has its own website where you can download it for Windows or Linux. Once downloaded, there's no need to return to the website to update; the game can update itself! There's also a native installer built in Rust, so you can find the game in your app launcher easily. Go ahead and try it out and live the greatest space adventure one could imagine!
